Brenda Joyce Yelverton, 71
1953-2025

Brenda Joyce Yelverton was born December 25, 1953, in Pine Bluff. She was a graduate of Dollarway High School and later attended Pines Vocational School where she received her degree in Cosmetology. Her career took a turn and she began working for the Arkansas Department of Corrections where she retired as an Intake Counselor. One of her favorite parts of her job was her involvement in the Paws Program for the inmates. Joyce loved the outdoors and enjoyed going camping when she could. She also was known for her visits to yard sales across town or thrift shopping at Goodwill. She also enjoyed her occasional visits to the Casino. She was a very giving person, and whether it was money or time, she often volunteered for Special Olympics or other activities at Jenkins Memorial Center. She also spent much time as a grandmother going to the grandchildren’s sporting events or hosting sleepovers for them, often telling them intriguing bedtime stories. If anyone was going to pull a prank on you, Joyce would be the first to volunteer to do so. She loved excitement and would often turn any get together into an all-out fun time.

Joyce passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Boudra; her parents, Karl King and Edna and Leland “Porky” Roberts; her in-laws, Jean and Jessie Yelverton; and a brother, Randy King.

Survivors include her loving husband, Terry Yelverton, whom she married March 15, 1994, even though their love spanned over 40 years. Also left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cristy Hosman (David), Karla Lee (Scott), and Lindsey Boudra; her grandchildren, Jonathon Holliday, Adrian Hogue, Kaitlyn Lee, Sawyer Hogue, Dalton Lee, and Seth Hosman; one sister, Shea Bradshaw (Carl); step-sister, Cheryl Murdock (Robert); step-brother, James Stewart; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Fuller Hale South Funeral Chapel, followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Jimmy Herring officiating. Burial will follow in Center Campground Cemetery, Prague.
