Betty Jean Spencer was born December 22, 1954 in Dumas, Arkansas to the late Earnest Spencer and Laura Turner. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 peacefully at her home.
Betty received her education from the Dumas Public School System. She enjoyed fishing and family gathering, they always brought her joy, she also enjoyed listening to the Blues. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother sister and aunt and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earnest Spencer and Laura Turner, a sister Earnestine Spencer and four brothers; Henry, June, Alonzo, and Donnell Spencer, and a grandson.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband James King, (2) daughters; Shonta' (Johnathan) Scott of Dumas, Arkansas and Debby Snoddy of Omaha, Nebraska, five sons; Jerry Spencer, Antwain Spencer, Anthony Washington, and David Spencer all of Dumas, Arkansas and Gregory Spencer of Little Rock, Arkansas, three sisters; Odessa Ravion of Dumas, Arkansas, Christine Spencer of Cleveland, Ohio, and Verde Long of St. Louis, Missouri, three brothers; Chester Spencer of Bartlesville, Missouri, Al Perry Spencer and Edward Spencer, of St. Louis, Missouri 18 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
