Andy Goins, 65
1959-2024

William Andrew “Andy” Goins died peacefully at Arbor Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Malvern, Arkansas on November 17, 2024, following a decade battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. May he be granted eternal rest in God’s heavenly kingdom. May his soul and all souls of the faithfully departed, through God’s mercy, rest in peace.

Andy was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 19, 1959. He attended Sheridan schools where he was a member of the FFA and played football in junior and senior high. He was active in 4-H and had prize winning spotted hogs. He attended the U of A in Fayetteville where he received a B.S. in Animal Sciences. It was there that he met Teresa Loudermilk, the love of his life, at a campus fraternity party. He was a member of Alpha Zeta Honorary Society, Farmhouse Fraternity, and the Agri Club.

Andy and Teresa married on June 20, 1982, in Hartford, Arkansas, lived for a short time in Fayetteville, then made their home at the family farm in Grant County for 39 years. He loved being outdoors, where he often could be found tinkering on old tractors. Andy worked as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Installer and taught a class for the Arkansas Builders and Contractors Association at the UALR campus. He received many certificates and taught many others how to safely install sprinkler systems of all types. Andy was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Andy is predeceased by his parents, Garfield and Marjorie Goins, his sisters Paulette Thomason and Pauline Goins, and his nephew Brad Woolever. He is survived by his wife Teresa of Sheridan, Arkansas; his two sons Health (Diana) Goins of Sheridan and Chad (Megan) Goins of Sevierville, Tennessee; his sister Becky Goins of Little Rock; his four grandchildren, Skyler, Zander, Reagan and Korbin; and many nephews and nieces.

Andy will be cremated and some of his ashes spread across the 40-acre farm where he grew up. A life memorial will be held at Memorial Gardens in Sheridan, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, with family visitation at 10:00 a.m.

The family asks that any memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or that a fruit tree be planted in Andy’s honor. The family thanks Arbor Oaks for their loving care of Andy for 1 ½ years.
