Amanda “BooBoo” Michelle James, 44 of Star City, passed away Sunday, April 20th, 2025 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. She was born September 29th, 1980 in Dumas, AR to Ernest “Allen” Maxey and Tullaha Michelle Patton Maxey of Star City. Amanda worked as a Maintenance Tech at the Arkansas Department of Corrections – Cummins Unit. She attended Northside Baptist Church in Star City. Amanda loved to spend time with her family, going to yard sales, loved her dogs, and enjoyed cooking.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Vivian Lavonne Patton and Nellie Maxey; and a beloved cousin, Philbo Dunn.
Other survivors include two sons, Blaine Michael James of Star City and Brayden Kyle James of Omega, AR; two daughters, Kayla Michelle James (Kyle Earnest), Katleigh Lavonne James and a bonus daughter, Amberlyn Self all of Star City; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025 from 6:00-8:00PM at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at 2:00PM at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City with Bro. Matthew Watson officiating. Burial will be at Watson Cemetery, Desha County. Pallbearers are Brayden James, Richie Cowen, Lonnie Maxey, Brian Wood, Matt Wood, and George McNeely.
