A four-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Drew County resulted in the death of a Monticello woman.
According to a preliminary report, Lacey Reed, 27, was a passenger in a 2001 Ford F-150 that was attempting to park on the south shoulder of U.S. Highway 425 when the passenger side of the truck was hit by a 2016 International that was southbound.
The International then hit a 1996 Toyota Tacoma and a 2018 Chrysler 300 that were both parked on the southbound shoulder of the roadway.
Reed was taken to Drew Baptist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
That accident was reported at 10:30 a.m. and the death was the 38th so far this year on the state’s highways.
