A single-vehicle accident occurred early Friday morning in Lincoln County, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Drake Woods from Monticello.
The incident took place on U.S. Highway 425 near Star City, where Woods was traveling northbound in a 2019 Dodge Ram, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
The vehicle reportedly left the roadway around 6:15 a.m., collided with a concrete bridge retainer wall, became airborne as it overturned, and landed on the passenger side in water.
Woods, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.
This incident is recorded as the 64th traffic-related fatality in Arkansas for the year, based on state crash statistics.
