The Jefferson Regional Hospital School of Nursing will be starting a new class next Monday and on Tuesday, Michelle Newton, who runs the school, was a guest on the Oldies 1013 morning show to talk about the school.
Newton said there will be 36 new students and there are currently 45 students from the prior class that are also in the building.
She went on to talk about the importance of diversity.
Morning show host Greg Horne said that a lot of students want to attend nursing school at major universities but can’t get in and leave and Newton agreed.
She went on to say that nurses now can continue their education without having to sit in class all day and still go to work.
Newton said the pass rate is 90.4 percent, which is above the state and nation.
