The Arkansas Department of Health has reported that an out-of-state resident with measles visited two locations in Fort Smith on April 19 and April 21, 2025. The specific locations and times were:

  • Mercy Hospital Fort Smith, 7301 Rogers Avenue, on April 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Best Friend Pet Clinic, 4400 Rogers Avenue Suite C, on April 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Individuals who were at these locations during the specified times are strongly advised to get the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine promptly to prevent the spread of the infection. Those unable to receive the vaccine should consult their healthcare provider for guidance.

People who were potentially exposed should monitor themselves for symptoms of measles for 21 days following exposure. The Arkansas Department of Health, along with the affected facilities, will reach out to those who may have been exposed.
