Update from State Police Press conference late afternoon:
Sate Police said during a Friday afternoon news conference, that eleven civilians were shot, three of whom were killed, in the shooting spree. They also noted that two officers were injured during the incident and the suspect was shot before being taken into custody. Of the 8 civilians shot and not killed their conditions range from non life threatening to extremely critical.

A late report is that the store employee known only as Cheryl was not shot but was hit with the butt of the gun and knocked down. We have been informed that the woman’s name is Shelia, not Cheryl.

A source at the scene reports that the shooter was a white male. A civilian at the store reportedly fired shots at the suspect and was wounded himself. The shooter is reportedly in critical condition at this time. A police officer is also reportedly In critical condition.
A source at the scene reportedly that a store employee named Cheryl grabbed several people and threw them into freezers before she was shot herself. She is expected to live.
Before entering the store, the suspect shot several cars in the parking lot. First responders can only confirm nine people shot but believe there could be many more.

I have been briefed on the tragic shooting in Fordyce, and I’m in constant contact with State Police at the scene. I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives. My prayers are with the victims and all those impacted by this horrific incident.
Update:
Two additional helicopters have been requested by authorities at the scene of the mass shooting at Fordyce.
Additionally, they are asking for help at Jefferson Regional Hospital at Pine Bluff and Baptist Hospital at Little Rock.

The shooter is in custody. Eight ambulances and four helicopters have responded and reports are that at least one police officer has been shot.
Deltaplex News has learned of a mass shooting reported at the Mad Butcher in Fordyce.
Eight people including a police officer have been shot and officials are asking for ambulances and assistance.
No further details were immediately available. More details will be released when they are available.
