Manager of Pine Bluff Regional Airport explains general aviation airports

Doug Hale, the manager of the Pine Bluff Regional Airport, Grider Field was a guest on the Oldies 1013 morning show Monday and talked about the airport, which he said is classified as a general aviation airport, as compared to a commercial airport like Adams Field in Little Rock.

He said there are 90 airports in the state, and most are general aviation airports, then went on to talk about the differences between general aviation and commercial airports.

Hale said Grider Field has a 6,000-foot runway and morning show host Greg Horne asked what types of planes typically use the airport.

He then explained the term non-controlled airspace.
