UAPB has announced that Sonya Lockett will take over as the Interim Director of the John Brown Watson Memorial Library at UAPB. The announcement was made by interim Chancellor Dr. Andrea Stewart. She will take over for the retiring Maplean Donaldson.
In making the appointment, Dr. Stewart said that Lockett has over two decades of experience in Library Science. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Coordinator of Public Services at the library. She also serves on the University’s Faculty/Staff Senate. She was recently appointed as the UAPB Winthrop Rockefeller Distinguished Lecture Series Chair. She holds a masters in Library Science from Texas Women’s University and a B.A. from UAPB. She was previously the Library and Media Services Director of Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock.
