A Little Rock man was killed when he was hit by a vehicle while walking on the shoulder of I-40 near the 150-mile marker in North Little Rock.
According to a preliminary report, Zerundrick Guy, 50, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead after the accident which was reported at 8:48 p.m.
The report said a 2017 Lexus ES driven by Christopher Hurley, 30, of Oklahoma was traveling east on the highway when the vehicle left the lane and began travelling on the north shoulder before striking the victim with the front passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle continued east and struck the north roadside barrier with the front of the vehicle.
Hurley was injured and taken to a hospital. The death was the 258th so far this year on the state’s highways.
