Judge Robinson discusses Quorum Court chaos

On Monday, half the members of the Jefferson Count Quorum Court again refused to attend a regular meeting where they were scheduled to vote on setting the tax rates for next year.

Only six of the 13 members of the county’s legislative body were in attendance while six others stayed outside the room and the final member was absent.

Faced with no quorum, County Judge Gerald Robinson called a halt to the proceedings and will try again to set a meeting and get a quorum to attend.

On Tuesday, Robinson appeared on Talk Back Live and talked about what happened.

Robinson went on to say that whatever personal differences they have with him need to be set aside.

Later, Robinson went on to talk about existing state law requiring the quorum court to adopt a policies and procedures ordinance at the beginning of the year, something this quorum court still has not done.
