Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be closed today in observation of Columbus Day

SHARE NOW

In observance of Columbus Day on Monday, October 14, 2024, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Administrative Offices will be closed. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Columbus Day is a time to reflect on the spirit of exploration and discovery that has shaped the history of our nation. While we commemorate Christopher Columbus’ voyage in 1492, we also take this opportunity to acknowledge the diverse cultures that enrich our community. It is essential that we honor not only the history of exploration but also the contributions of Indigenous peoples and the complex legacy of our shared heritage.

Although our Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, please know that JCSO’s law enforcement operations remain fully functional, with deputies and personnel continuing to provide services to our community without interruption.
