Severe thunderstorms swept through Arkansas Wednesday night, bringing tornadoes, hail, and strong winds, bringing damage across the state that has forced Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders to declare a state of emergency.
She has allocated $250,000 from the Disaster Response and Recovery Fund to manage the ongoing situation.
Additionally, the Arkansas National Guard was mobilized for active duty response. This deployment includes four high-water teams and over 40 guardsmen positioned in the Northeast region of the state. Each high-water team is equipped with three light-medium tactical vehicles, capable of transporting up to 16 people, as well as a Humvee and other equipment.
