On December 13, 2024, at approximately 6:37 PM, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Deputies were dispatched to 10821 Old Star City Road, Pine Bluff, AR in reference to a residential fire and possible resident still inside.
Fire fighters on scene were able to locate human remains within the residence. The Jefferson County Coroner and JCSO on-call investigator were notified.
After an initial investigation the remains are believed to be that of James Agee, who is known as the resident and confirmed by family members who were interviewed.
While no foul play is suspected at this time, the remains will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in hopes of positive identification and cause of death.
This is still considered an open investigation until such information can be obtained. Any further information regarding this incident will be released when possible.
