At its recent meeting, the Grant County Quorum Court approved legislation allocating funds for additional work on county roads.

According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, the court approved an additional $1.2 million which County Judge Randy Pruitt said will allow the county to pave 10 miles of roads, primarily short roads.

The project will involve smoothing the roads, adding a 1-inch overlay and applying a chip seal on top.

Pruitt said high-traffic roads, particularly those used by log trucks will not be resurfaced under this program.
