Former Arkansas Razorbacks women’s coach Mike Neighbors is joining the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA. He resigned as the Arkansas coach on March 11th. He will be reunited in LA with a former player, Kelsey Plum, who he coached to a Final Four appearance in 2016 with Washington before coming to Fayetteville.
“Becoming a part of the Los Angeles Sparks is my childhood dream realized”, said Neighbors. “During my 31 years as a coach, the growth of the women’s game and the league has been miraculous. My family and I can’t wait to get to L.A. ”
The coach of The Sparks, Lynne Roberts, competed against Neighbors at Washington when she was the coach at Utah from 2015 to 2024 before taking the job in the WNBA.
