At yesterday’s Community Chat, Little Rock Attorney Luther Sutter announced he will be filing a class action lawsuit against County Judge Gerald Robinson over the fact that county employees are not being paid. The lawsuit was filed in the 11th West Circuit Court. Although it has been filed, it has not been assigned to a division. Sutter said the lawsuit seeks to represent a class of Jefferson County employees that have not been paid. Sutter, who says he “is a civil rights attorney by trade”, went on to say he likes to held governments accountable. He also said it is not his intention to come down and gin up a big bill for the taxpayers, instead he is there for the people. 7 of the 13 justices were at the meeting yesterday. That group were ones commonly opposed to the Judge. Sutter is also going to ask that Robinson pay any fees that are related to the lawsuit. Sutter said he got called at 2 p.m. yesterday and was told about the money not being paid. 392 of the 400 employees have not been paid according to County Clerk Shawndra Taggart.
