Pine Bluff voters will decide the fate of not only the city clerk but of the Mayor and City Treasurer.

Two of the announced candidates, former City Council Member Joni Alexander Robinson and current Mayor Shirley Washington were also among the first to file.

Alexander Robinson represented Ward 1 for four years before choosing not to seek a second term in 2022.

She told Deltaplex News why she decided to challenge Washington.

Washington will be seeking her third term as Mayor and was asked why she decided to run again.

Four positions are up for election or re-election on the Pine Bluff City Council, one each in Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the incumbents in each of those wards, Lloyd Holcomb Jr., in Ward 1, Steven Shaner in Ward 2, Glen Brown Sr., in Ward 3 and Bruce Lockett in Ward 4 have all indicated they will seek another term.

Also to be decided is the fate of each of the 13 members of the Jefferson County Quorum Court, who serve two-year terms.
