At its most recent meeting, the Drew County Quorum Court approve legislation allowing the Sheriff’s Department to buy a vehicle, radios and necessary equipment.
According to the Advance Monticellonian newspaper, an ordinance appropriating $64,000 for the vehicle and $26,000 for radios and equipment were approved.
Sheriff Tim Nichols said the money is already in a special account and the ordinance will just authorize it to be spent.
Nichols also told the court that the Drew County Sheriff’s Office mobile app is now live on all Apple products and is free. He said the app will soon be available for Android devices.
