Here’s a followup on a story Deltaplex News has been following. You may recall that the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has been warning local residents
about a phone scam that’s designed to take your money. Commanding Officer John Bean says if someone call you about a warrant or a missed Court
date, more than likely, it’s a scam.
Bean says if you’re not wanted or a scheduled for a Court date, there’s no need To talk with the caller. He says simply hang up.
Again, the Sheriff’s Does NOT call asking you to purchase phone cards or Gift cards for missed Court dates. Again, Bean says check with the Sheriff’s
Office if you think that there’s an outstanding warrant with your name on it.
