Due to storms, flooding and tornadoes that occurred in Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee earlier this month, residents of those two states are going to get an extension to file their taxes. The agency announced today that instead of staring down tomorrow’s tax deadline, residents will be given until November 3rd to file and pay any taxes that would have been due.
The IRS often postpones deadlines for taxpayers in areas that have been subject to natural disasters because of the upheaval that such events can have on businesses and people.
