A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery was arrested Monday after he was involved in an altercation that a 911 operator heard after the victim called for help.
James Phillips, 26, was taken into custody after police responded to an unknown trouble call at 5821 Sulphur Springs Road at 4:19 p.m.
Reading from an affidavit by Detective Sgt. Corey Wilfong, a deputy prosecutor explained the allegation against Phillips.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $2,500 bond for Phillips after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.
He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 7.
