A $5,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Jefferson County man on a drug related charge.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Marcus Sewell with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Officer Christian Carroll, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Officer Kenward was on patrol on Claud Road when he saw a vehicle that was traveling faster than the posted speed limit.

Sewell was taken into custody and taken to the Sheridan Detention Center.

He was told to return to court on July 24.
