A $25k bond was set for a PB man being charged with aggravated residential burglary

A $25,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of kicking down the door  of a residence and taking a tablet.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Vernon Dockett, 41, with aggravated residential burglary.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Laquincia Smith, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said on Saturday at 3:13 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Elm Street on an unknown trouble call.

Dockett, who Akel said has no prior convictions, was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Sept. 26.
