A $25k bond was set for a man being charged with second-degree battery

A $25,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly injured another man during an altercation Saturday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Rickey T. Sims, 57, with second-degree battery.

According to prosecutors, police were sent to a reported altercation and when they arrived the victim said Sims had broken his arm.

Sims was taken to the adult detention center where he was read his rights and agreed to make a statement.

Sims was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Jan. 22.
