A $2,500 bond was set Monday for a Jefferson County man currently out on bond on a prior felony after drugs and a gun were found in the vehicle the man was driving.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Michael Mouton, 39, with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Prosecutors had asked for a $5,000 cash only bond while the public defender’s office had asked that the bond that was set in Mouton’s prior case be applied to this one as well.
Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained the allegations against Mouton.
Mouton was told to come back to court Feb. 10.
