A $2,500 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man arrested Sunday after a stolen gun was found in the vehicle the man was driving after a traffic stop.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Thomas, 32, with theft by receiving a firearm.
During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Britaney Akel explained the allegation based on an affidavit by the Arkansas State Police.
Akel said when Thomas was interviewed, he admitted knowing about the gun but said he did not know who it belonged to.
Thomas was told to come back to court April 7.
