A $15,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who previously pled guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery and was arrested on a new allegation Friday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Lawence Langel, 32 with second-offense third degree domestic battery, a felony and aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Detective Laquincia Smith testified during the hearing and explained the circumstances that led to the arrest.

Smith said Langel pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery on March 4, 2013.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court July 23.
