A $15,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of pointing a gun at multiple people during an altercation.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Caleb Childress, 21, with third-degree domestic battery, first-degree terroristic threatening, aggravated assault on a family or household member and two counts of aggravated assault.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., police were sent to an apartment on West 36th Avenue in response to a reported armed disturbance.

Akel said officers at the scene took possession of the weapon and took it to the evidence locker.

Police reported seeing a mark on the victim’s forehead and statements from the other victims were consistent with the original victim’s account.

Also, Akel said while Childress was being booked in at the jail, he threatened to kill an officer and take his badge.

Childress was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 9.
