A $10,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of hitting his elderly father.

Jefferson County Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dante Watson, 28, with second-degree domestic battery.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Dante Nicholson, Deputy Prosecutor Katelyn Phillips explained the allegation.

Phillips said Watson has a previous conviction for third-degree domestic battery.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Sept. 20.
