A $10k bond was set for a woman accused of cashing a stolen check

A $10,000 bond was set Friday for a Jefferson County woman accused of cashing a check that had been reported stolen.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Charlotte Stanley, 44, with forgery and theft by receiving.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said on Aug. 5, White Hall Police were notified by Relyance Bank that a check that had been reported stolen had been cashed at the bank branch on Dollarway Road in White Hall Aug. 2.

West said Stanley is not currently on probation or parole but has prior convictions for forgery and theft by receiving and forgery in Jefferson County and a drug charge from Pulaski County.

Stanley was told to come back to court Sept. 18.
