A $10,000 bond was set Monday for a White Hall man accused of possessing stolen property.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Steve Zachary Wilson, 32, with theft by receiving.
Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Brittany Akel said on Aug. 22 at 2:22 a.m., White Hall Police officers were patrolling Hospitality Drive and Grandy Avenue when they saw a White Dodge Caravan with an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle was conducted which contained three occupants including Wilson who said the vehicle was his and his driver’s license was expired.
Akel said when Wilson was interviewed he said he knew the property in the vehicle was stolen but said he had nothing to do with the theft.
Wilson, who has two prior drug related felony convictions, was told to come back to court Sept. 26.
