A $10,000 bond was set Thursday for a Pine Bluff man accused of breaking into a parked vehicle and taking a wallet and watch.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Demarius Barnett, 30, with breaking or entering and fraudulent use of a credit or debit card.

Deput Prosecutor Brittany Akel said during the court hearing that on Tuesday at 12:52 p.m., police were sent to a residence on West 33rd Avenue in response to a vehicle being broken into.

Akel said Barnett has no prior felony convictions but does have seven failures to appear in district court.

Barnett was told to come back to court Aug. 15.
