A $10k bond was set for a man being charged with domestic battery

A Jefferson County man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery was arrested Thursday after he allegedly beat his girlfriend.

David Ostendorff, 40, was taken into custody after sheriff’s deputies were sent to an address on Ginett Road in response to a reported domestic call.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Rodney Allen, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander told the court what Ostendorff is accused of.

Alexander said Ostendorff was previously convicted of third-degree domestic battery on Aug, 23, 2021.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Ostendorff after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with second offense third-degree domestic battery,

a felony. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Aug. 26.
