Police conducted a welfare check after an infant was found walking in the street alone Tuesday and arrested the infant’s father.
Igor Petrovic, 35, was taken into custody after officers were sent to West 33rd Avenue at 11:41 a.m., after a man reported finding the infant.
During a court hearing Thursday, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel explained the allegation against Petrovic based on an affidavit from Detective Mike Merritt.
Merritt reported that Petrovic was taken to the detective office where he said he and the child had gone to bed at the same time and slept in the same bed.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Petrovic with endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree. He was told to come back to court Aug. 15.
