A Pine Bluff man was killed in a three-vehicle accident in on Interstate 530 in Pulaski County Monday morning.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Raymundo Carrera, 25, was southbound in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado as were two other vehicles, a 2000 Ford Van and a 2005 Freightliner Tractor-Trailer.
The driver of the van slowed down in the traffic lane and Carrera, whose vehicle was behind the van began to brake abruptly. The Freightliner, which was behind the vehicle Carrera was driving, collided with the rear of Carrera’s vehicle and pushed it into the rear of the van.
The accident was reported at 7:10 a.m. at the 15-mile marker and according to the preliminary report, it was raining, and the roadway was wet at the time.
The death was the 262nd so far this year on the states highways.
