The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) is set to host its spring commencement exercises on Friday, May 9, in the Steelman Field House.
The event will be divided into two ceremonies, with the first one scheduled for 10 a.m. and the second for 2 p.m.
Attendees can enter the venue starting at 9 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 1 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony. It is recommended that guests take their seats by 9:50 a.m. and 1:50 p.m., as the processionals will commence at 9:55 a.m. and 1:55 p.m., respectively.
The 10 a.m. ceremony will feature graduates from the School of Arts and Humanities, the School of Business, the School of Computer Information Systems, and the School of Education, including both undergraduate and graduate programs.
The 2 p.m. ceremony will include graduates from the College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources, the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Division of General Studies, again covering both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Speakers for the event will include Dr. Peggy Doss, the chancellor of UAM, and Dr. Michael Moore, vice president for Academic Affairs for the University of Arkansas System.
During the ceremonies, special recognitions will be given, including the Hornaday Outstanding Faculty Award and the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
The university will confer a range of academic credentials, from master’s degrees to associate degrees, to the graduates.
