A former day care worker in Paragould, Arkansas, has been charged with a felony after allegedly pushing a young child to the ground at a playground.
The incident occurred at ARKIDS Day Care Center, prompting police involvement on April 17. Staff at the facility reported the incident, leading to the immediate termination of the employee, Jessica Hodges.
Surveillance footage reviewed by police reportedly confirmed that Hodges pushed the 4-year-old child to the ground on two occasions. The child allegedly reported experiencing pain from the incident.
Hodges was located at her home by authorities, taken into custody, and brought to the Paragould Police Department for questioning. During an interview, she reportedly admitted to the actions.
As a result, Hodges faces a charge of second-degree battery, classified as a Class D felony.
