Among the many laws and regulations adopted by the Arkansas General Assembly this year was legislation dealing with student transfers, particularly for athletics.
Dr. Keith McGee, the Superintendent of the Watson Chapel School District appeared on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show where host Greg Horne said that before the change, Watson Chapel was affected more than Pine Bluff or White Hall with student athletes leaving, primarily for Little Rock schools.
Horne also asked McGee to clarify his understand of the law, which provides that if a family moves to another location, a school transfer is allowed but it prohibits a school “from taking a bus and loading it up (with kids) from Chapel, Pine Bluff and White Hall.”
