Lee Corso has announced he is leaving College Gameday in August. Corso, who turns 90 on August 7th, is best known for his headgear picks and catch phrases like “not so fast, my friend”, has been with the traveling road show since 1987.
The headgear segment, which started in 1995 in Columbus, Ohio, has seen him go 286-144 in those selections. Corso held a No. 2 pencil in most segments. In the offseason, he was the director of business development for Dixon Ticonderoga, which makes the pencil.
Corso’s final broadcast will be August 30th. Additional programming to celebrate Corso will take place leading up to that date.
