Farmers and ranchers who need assistance completing U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Loan applications can receive help from the Small Farm Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and the East Arkansas Enterprise Community (EAEC) in northeast Arkansas. This service is especially good for new farmers, as well as established farmers unfamiliar with the USDA farm loan application process, Dr. Henry English, head of the UAPB Small Farm program, said.

“Extension associates are available to assist individuals in developing income/expense projections and balance sheets required in the applications,” he said. “Information on enterprise budgets, breakeven prices and yields will also be provided. The information you develop will be compared to the available county average information. The Extension associate will also work with your loan officer to ensure that you submit a complete application.”

Individuals needing assistance with loan applications in southeast Arkansas can contact Karen Lee of the UAPB Small Farm Program at [email protected] or (870) 575-7225. Individuals in northeast Arkansas can contact EAEC representatives Alex Cole at [email protected] or 870-270-2215 or Hendra Woodfork at (870) 630-2005.
