A $75,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who was arrested Saturday after he led police on a high speed chase than ended when the car the man was driving crashed into two parked vehicles, causing substantial damage.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Decorian Nance, 22, with felony fleeing, second-degree battery and two counts of second-degree criminal mischief.
Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Dante Nicholson, Deput Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said on Saturday at about 12:30 p.m., police were patrolling on Walnut Street when they saw a white Dodge Charger that had expired tags. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer told Nance the reason for the stop. Nance gave the officer an expired driver’s license.
Akel went on to say this.
Nance was ordered to have no contact with the injured officer and told to come back to court May 19.
