UPDATE: 5:38 PM Firefighters continue to battle the fire on I-530. Traffic is currently backup up to Princeton Pike. County firefighters are asking for help from the Forestry firefighters to stop the spread. In Little Rock it is also a dire situation as a Wal-Mart on Bowman Road was affected. Also, they are trying to stop a blaze threatening the Goodwill Headquarters. A new fire has just been reported at Highway 425 and Grider Field Road. All off-duty firefighters in the city and county have been called into help.
UPDATE: 3:50 PM: Deltaplex News has learned that homes on the north side of Highway 104 near Family Church are being evacuated due to the fire.
Access to several areas have been cut off by law enforcement and fire departments due to the fire.
ORIGINAL STORY:
I530 is shut down near the Highway 104 exit due to a wildfire in the area.
Northbound traffic is being diverted at Exit 32 while southbound traffic is being diverted at Exit 27 due to the fire causing low visibility across all four lanes of traffic.
There is no known cause of the fire at this time, and no information has been provided telling how many acres have been burned.
