While the Arkansas State women’s basketball program had success in the 90’s under former coach Jeff Mittie, they never got to the promised land. This afternoon they, will try to get to the Big Dance for the first time in school history. The Red Wolves will have a tall task against regular season Sun Belt champs James Madison at 1 p.m. this afternoon in Pensacola. The Lady Dukes rolled through the Sun Belt, compiling a perfect 18-0 record. One team they didn’t beat was ASU, as the two teams did not meet during the regular season. James Madison’s only four losses were against powerhouse Notre Dame, SEC runner up Texas, North Carolina State and Big Sky conference powerhouse Northern Arizona. JMU has not lost a game in 2025. The Red Wolves are lead by 4th year coach Destinee Rogers, a former standout at UCA. Wins by both Red Wolves teams today in Pensacola would put the school squarely on the basketball map and give fans in Jonesboro something to really look forward to on Selection Sunday this weekend.
