Wednesday is United Way Day on Oldies 1013 and this week director Jason Duren talked about volunteering at the One Bluff Warming Center which opened in the Opportunity House, located at 1305 E. 6th Tuesday night.
Duren said the center is seeking support from community organizations, faith-based groups and volunteers as well as blankets, warm clothing and non-perishable food items.
On the subject of blankets, Duren said this.
According to a press release from the Mayor’s Office, the warming center will be open from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. until further notice.
He also talked about the Christmas in the Bluff event in mid-December, describing it as a “success.”
