The final beam was lifted into place for the new hotel and convention center at Saracen Casino Resort on Tuesday with a host of workers, media, government officials, and Quapaw Nation officials on hand.
One such official was the new Quapaw Nation Business Committee Chair Wena Supernaw.
Supernaw, who was sworn in as Chair in July 2023 was excited about the topping out ceremony on Tuesday.
Supernaw continued by sharing what Pine Bluff means to the Quapaw Nation.
Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington was on hand and shared her thoughts on the progress being made at Saracen Casino Resort.
Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson was on hand, saying he does not regret the decision he made to support the building of Saracen Casino Resort.
Pine Bluff and Jefferson County have already enjoyed increased numbers of visitors from people coming from outside of the county to visit the casino. Robinson said he believe those numbers will continue to climb once construction is completed.
