Some notable alum currently in the Major Leagues include Josh Bell, Trevor Story, AJ Minter, and many others.  Stout was a keynote speaker for the 2024 ABCA conference and coached the Future Stars team at Globe Life field.

Stout spoke with Deltaplex News on Tuesday saying that there is room for improvement in all facets of the Golden Lions baseball program.

Stout said he did not know a lot about UAPB or Pine Bluff, but a good friend in Torii Hunter helped to lead him towards the job.

A visit from UAPB Director of Athletics Chris Robinson helped to seal the deal with Stout.

Stout brought 30 new players to UAPB when he took the job, saying there were some good players on campus, but there was also room for improvement.

Stout continued by saying there was room for improvement across the board.

He added that each new player provides a specific piece that is needed for UAPB to have success.

The Golden Lions had their first live arm inner-squad fall practice on Tuesday, and Stout said he is excited to see who shows up “when the lights come on”.
