A Hot Springs man was killed Wednesday when his motorcycle hit the rear of a vehicle that failed to yield while crossing an intersection.

According to a preliminary report, Bryce Metcalf, 22, was westbound riding a 2012 Honda CRB600 that was on U.S. 270B, Malvern Avenue approaching the intersection with Nichols Street when the driver of a 2018 Dodge Journey that was eastbound on Drexel Street attempted to cross U.S. 270B to reach Nichols Street.

The report went on to say that the passenger rear of the Dodge collided with the front of the Honda and Metcalf died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was not injured.

The accident was reported at 2:30 p.m. and the death was the 423rd so far this year on the state’s highways.
